Mr James Wolfe Email Scammer - Federal Bank of New York Scam

The Federal Bank Of New York Scam was sent to my email inbox a little while ago The scammer claims his name is Mr James Wolfe and also sent me some I.D. in an attempt to gain my trust.

The scam starts like many other scams, with a generic email sent to the masses. This is simply a game of numbers for the scammers, they will of course get some replies from potential victims.

The first email I received from James Wolfe claims there are unclaimed funds for government-proposed Stimulus Bill Payments.

Please do get back to us today by reconfirming your full names, address,
telephone number, occupation, and a valid copy of your ID (VERY IMPORTANT).
So that we can have your funds transferred to your nominated bank account.

    It is important to note that this payment process will cost you no money out
    of pocket as suitable solutions have been provided for all financial requirements   to complete this process.

In the second email from James Wolfe, the scammer attached some fake identification in an attempt to make the scam appear legit.

How are you doing today, hope you are fine? I want to acknowledge receipt of  your prompt response to our email correspondence in regards to your long overdue outstanding payment with us here at the Federal Reserve Bank, NY. With the current global happenings regarding Ukraine and the unpredictability of its long and short term effects on the US economy, the US Department of the Treasury has mandated that we find immediate solutions to all outstanding international inheritance based payments within our coffers. This payment resolution is required to be completed on or before 08/31/2022 afterwhich all such unresolved outstanding fund payments will be forfeited and converted to be used in the Potential Economic Emergency Relief Program (PEERP) . 

In going forward, all the prerequisite findings to validate your person as the appropriate fund beneficiary for this outstanding payment have been thoroughly verified by our bank hence the instruction issued to us is to initiate an immediate payment resolution. The amount involved as regards to this outstanding fund payment is Three and A Half Million United States Dollars ONLY and I intend to enable you to successfully resolve this payment process without needing to spend a dime out of your pockets.

I must say here that from my experience, I understand that it is never easy trying to acquire funds needed to see through transactions of this magnitude when you have so many of your own day to day bills to take care of. However, you have absolutely nothing to worry about regarding any costs or fees to get your payment resolved as my office has drawn up an elaborate payment scheme that ensures that you do not need to spend a dime out of pocket.

Conclusion

This scam has all the hallmarks of an Advance Fee Scam, you will be asked to pay a fee at some point. If you have found this page through a search engine you are being scammed. Users that have received these emails or any emails similar to this one should:

  • Delete The Email
  • Block The Sender
  • Forget About It
